The first dog collar to sense stress on every coat and respond with on-collar haptic calming.
Automatically.
Lucero combines biometric anxiety detection through contactless radar with on-collar Pulse Rhythm. No other smart collar reads the stress and delivers the response on the same hardware. From your phone, with no drugs, no sedation, and no extra accessory. Built for thunderstorms, fireworks, and separation anxiety.
A $5 Pioneer Reservation (Lucero at $336, 25% off the $449 retail price), or a $20 Founders Circle seat (Lucero at $291, 35% off, only 50 seats), holds your Kickstarter spot. Kickstarter opens to the public at CES 2027 on January 6, 2027, with Pioneer early access from January 3. Targeting a Spring 2027 launch, pending certification and production validation.

Every other dog anxiety solution needs you there. PawPulse does not.
The hard moments usually happen when you are busy, asleep, or already too late.
Compression vests
Compression vests like Thundershirt only work if you are home to put one on before the thunderstorm starts. If fireworks hit at midnight and you are asleep, the vest is on the shelf.
Medications
Prescription required. 30-60 minute onset. Sedation risk. By the time it takes effect, the fireworks finale is already over.
Sound calming
Needs a speaker nearby. Stops working when the thing causing anxiety is also noise - like the thunderstorm itself.
Training
Months of sessions at $100+ each. Genuinely useful long-term - but zero help during the acute thunderstorm or fireworks episode happening right now.
There is a better dog anxiety solution for thunderstorms, fireworks, and separation - and it is already on their collar.

Science-based Pulse Rhythm for dog anxiety. Here is the research behind the modes.
Pulse Rhythm is built on peer-reviewed research about the calming effects of specific vibration frequencies on mammals.
Low-Frequency Vibration
Research on rhythmic tactile stimulation informs our waveform candidates, but final output levels and surface motion are validated on PawPulse hardware before owner-facing release.
Research-informed Pulse Rhythm
Heartbeat Rhythm
Studies of rhythmic stimuli in companion animals, including work in Applied Animal Behaviour Science, have explored how resting-heart-rate-range patterns interact with stress responses. Heartbeat Mode runs at 60 BPM.

Touch Pressure
Deep-pressure stimulation, the same mechanism behind weighted blankets and swaddling, has been studied across animal behavior research including the Journal of Veterinary Behavior. Storm Mode delivers variable deep-pressure patterns for acute trigger events.

Why Our Approach Is Different
Unlike basic "vibration alerts" that simply buzz, PawPulse uses precision haptic technology - the same type found in premium smartphones - to deliver carefully calibrated, gentle vibrations at specific frequencies studied for their calming effects. The result is a natural, soothing sensation gentle enough for extended use, not a startling buzz.
Calm Dogs During Thunderstorms, Fireworks, and Separation Anxiety
Three calming modes tuned for different anxiety triggers - from thunderstorm phobia and fireworks fear to separation anxiety.
Deep Calm
55Hz Continuous
Mimics the low-frequency rumble that calms mammals. Best for general anxiety, nervousness, and everyday stress.
Heartbeat Mode
For Separation Anxiety
60 BPM - a resting heartbeat, externalized. For dogs who spiral when they cannot hear yours. Activates automatically or from your phone.
Storm Mode
Variable Pattern
Variable deep-pressure pattern for the hard ones: thunderstorms, fireworks, vet tables, travel, and triggers that hit fast.

Separation anxiety support that runs while you are at work.
The pacing starts before you close the door. PawPulse Lucero notices stress patterns - elevated heart rate, restlessness, changed breathing - and activates Heartbeat Mode when stress patterns rise. You get a notification. They get a rhythm.
- Activates automatically when stress patterns rise
- Trigger manually from your phone at work
- Soothing heartbeat rhythm provides comfort
How Pulse Rhythm works: read, detect, soothe.
PawPulse monitors stress signals from the collar, then lets Pulse Rhythm activate from the app or through automated support when anxiety patterns appear.
Read
Contactless radar sensing reads heart rate, HRV, activity, and stress indicators continuously. No skin contact. Always running.
Detect
Prism Insights spots the ramp-up: heart rate climbing, breathing getting quicker, stress building. Pulse Rhythm can step in early instead of after the storm has already won.
Soothe
Pulse Rhythm activates. Automatically if configured, or manually from your phone. Calibrated calming waveforms for thunderstorms, fireworks, and separation anxiety - not a generic buzz.

Building Positive Associations
Effective calming requires conditioning. You cannot just vibrate a scared dog and expect results. This is why we built a conditioning program into the app.
Days 1-3: Association Building
Manual triggers paired with treats and praise. Your dog learns that the collar's gentle vibration means good things.
Days 4-6: Pattern Learning
App-suggested triggers based on your dog's activity patterns. AI begins learning your dog's routine.
Days 7-14: Automatic Support
The collar recognizes anxiety signals and can automatically activate calming mode-even when you are not home.
By Day 14, most dogs do not just tolerate the calming patterns - they welcome them as a source of comfort.
Built-in safeguards. Safety is part of the design, not an afterthought.
Battery-Aware Pausing
When the battery runs low, GPS and health monitoring take priority and Pulse Rhythm pauses automatically until the next charge.
Smart Health Tracking
Clean data - sensors pause during active Pulse Rhythm so vibration never mixes into health monitoring readings.
Instant Cancel
One tap in the app immediately stops any calming session.
Gradual Intensity
Gradual onset - vibration always ramps from zero. The collar never startles the dog it is trying to calm.
100% Optional Feature
Fully optional - turn it off, schedule it, or let Prism Insights trigger it automatically. It is there when you want it and invisible when you do not.
Why Pulse Rhythm Is Different
Pulse Rhythm is a non-pharmacological option that complements, not replaces, vet-prescribed care. For severe anxiety, talk to your veterinarian.

Pulse Rhythm questions
What owners ask before they try it.
Straight answers about what Pulse Rhythm is, when it runs, and what it is not.
Pulse Rhythm is calming support built into the Lucero collar itself. It plays low-frequency haptic patterns through the collar module, in three modes tuned for thunderstorms, fireworks, and separation anxiety. You can start a session from your phone, or let the collar start one automatically when stress patterns rise.
No. Pulse Rhythm has no static, no shock, and no punishment sounds. It uses gentle, rhythmic vibration patterns modeled on a resting heartbeat and on deep-pressure stimulation, the same idea behind weighted blankets. The goal is to soothe, never to correct.
Lucero picks up stress patterns with contactless radar that works on every coat: elevated heart rate, restlessness, and changed breathing. When those patterns rise against your dog's own baseline, the collar can activate Pulse Rhythm on its own and send you a notification. Automatic activation is a setting you control in the app.
Heartbeat Mode runs a steady 60 BPM rhythm that mirrors a calm resting heart rate, suited to time apart and settling. Storm Mode delivers variable deep-pressure style patterns built for acute trigger events like thunder and fireworks. The third mode rounds out the set for everyday anxious moments.
No. Pulse Rhythm is support, not a cure, and individual results vary. It is designed to help in the moment, especially when you cannot be there. Behavior training, your veterinarian, and any care plan they recommend stay in charge. If your dog experiences severe anxiety, talk to your vet first.
Yes. Open the PawPulse app and start Heartbeat, Storm, or the third mode remotely. The app also logs when sessions ran, whether you started them or the collar did, so when you get home you can see calm stretches, restless periods, and exactly when Pulse Rhythm stepped in.
The haptic module sits in the collar against the neck, so the patterns transmit through fur the way a normal collar's contact does. Fit the collar the way you would any collar, snug enough that the module stays in place without being tight. Most dogs settle into the rhythm within a few minutes.
Sessions are short and intermittent, and Lucero is built for long stretches between charges with the full sensing stack running. Full battery figures will be published at launch. When it is time to top up, the collar charges on the included Solstice Dock.
Important: Pulse Rhythm is designed to support anxiety management and may help reduce symptoms in some dogs. Individual results vary. This feature is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. If your dog experiences severe anxiety, please consult with your veterinarian. Research framing reflects publicly available work on low-frequency vibration, rhythmic stimuli, and deep-pressure stimulation.
